Home Remedies for Dry Cough




Children often get the fever in winters very frequently due to cold weather. Frequent use of antibiotics makes them weak internally. Here is the very simple tip you can try which not only make them internal strong but also save become a victim of the cold weather.

Take 1.5 cup of milk and 2 dry dates(chuahre). Cut dry dates into small pieces and put in the milk and boil the milk on low flame, well covered with a lid. Add 1/4th cup of water also in it. Now keep it to boiling till the milk becomes half of the actual quantity. Now switch off the gas and let the milk cool down on its own without opening the lid. Strain the milk and add sugar and give lukewarm milk to the child. If a child can able to eat the boiled dates then it will also be best for him. This milk should be given in the night before sleep. Do not eat or drink anything else after it. Keep the child in a warm blanket.

This milk can be taken by children or elders in case of severe cold, cough, fever etc. The quantity of dry dates should be increased in case of elders. For children below 5 years age,  only half date should be used for one glass of milk that become one cup of after continuously boiling.

Only 2-3 tablespoon of this milk should be given to children below 2 years

Some more home remedies for dry cough & cold

  1. Mix one-fourth teaspoon of ginger powder, 5 tulsi (basil) leaves with ½ tsp of turmeric powder and add honey and boil all the ingredients in 1 glass of water on low flame till it becomes half. and then consume it when it is luke-warm. It really works.
  2. Boil one teaspoon of cinnamon powder in one cup of water. Simmer till it's 0.5 the quantity, strain, add honey and drink heat.
  3. Dry roast 3-4 black raisins and add a pinch of black pepper and common salt to that. Have this 2-3 times every day.
  4. Prepare a combination of small-grained dried ginger root, black pepper and long pepper in equal amounts and store in an airtight container. Have ½ teaspoon of this powder mixed with honey.
  5. Add some salt to heat water and gargle 2 or 3 times every day.
